Suzanne Nuri-Nixon
Hingham area
Suzanne Nuri-Nixon has been a councillor in Wymondham for nearly 10 years and was Wymondham Mayor for two years. She was inspired by a Liberal Democrat colleague to stand up for her local community’s interests.
She has always advocated for more effective communication between residents and local councils, believing that actively informing people of issues that will affect them should be clear and honest.
As well as experience in handling residents’ casework, Suzanne has lobbied in the past for step free access at Wymondham train station, improved green spaces and park facilities and sourcing funding for a youth club.
She believes in people coming together to share and help develop community spirit and has volunteered in the past with Norwich Pride, as a school governor and worked with elderly stroke survivors. In 2012, Suzanne was one of the 70,000 Gamesmakers for the London Olympic games.
She values honesty, integrity and standing up for those who are not able, in a free and fair democracy.
