East Depwade area

The Liberal Democrat candidate for East Depwade (Harleston, Pulhams, Dickleburgh, Scole) is Murray Gray.

Murray is a semi-retired university academic in the field of earth and environmental sciences. He has a wealth of experience of local government.

  • He was District Councillor for Wortwell, Alburgh, Denton and
    Earsham for 28 years (1991-2019);

  • He chaired South Norfolk Council’s Planning Committee for 12 years;

  • He was also a Member of the Broads Authority for 12 years and chaired its Planning
    Committee for 7 of those years;

  • He has also been a Member of an Environment Agency Regional Committee.

In fact the environment, its conservation and restoration are his main political priorities. He has concerns over the Labour government plans to loosen countryside protections in order to build 1.5 million new homes during this parliament. If elected, he will campaign for improved County Council policies on the environment and education.
